Magazine Production Manager/Graphic Designer

Leading South Florida publishing company is seeking a production manager/designer for all its publications. The ideal candidate will have at least three years’ consumer magazine experience and an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts or related field. Duties include ad, web ad, in-house promotional material and special section design, ad trafficking, troubleshooting submitted ad files, contract administration and maintenance, mapping publications, acting as liaison between magazine and clients, vendors and printers; creating digital version of magazine for web posting; uploading and review of all PDF press-ready files for printer and all other magazine production duties. Assist Sales Dept. with marketing/advertising requests. Set yearly production schedule for edit, art, production, circulation and printer deadlines. Maintain Epson large format color proofing printer, Canon copier/printer; check ink supply/waste toner cartridge, reorder as necessary.

Special skill sets include the ability to work quickly within tight deadlines, excellent verbal and written communication skills, superior customer service, close working knowledge of the printing process (the ability to create press-ready files, i.e. bleeds, PDF proofing, color separations - spot vs. CMYK is a must), organization and planning skills. Must have proficiency with the Adobe CC suite (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator). Web skills including design of digital editions, html, and interactive media are a plus. Color-correction and image manipulation using Photoshop and Lightroom is a plus. Candidates must be experienced at preflighting and troubleshooting InDesign layouts through all stages of production with strict attention to detail. IT knowledge is a plus.

Sales Director

Experienced sales director to sell print and digital advertising for an association covering the state of Florida.

Our products are successful and profitable, and the position comes with a well-established account base. We’re only looking to fill this job because our current sales director is retiring after 21 years.

To succeed in this job, you must:

  • Have advertising sales experience with print magazines, digital newsletters and e-blasts.
  • Be self-motivated, organized and have proven track record in prospecting, client service, business development and consultative sales.
  • Have strong written, verbal and phone skills.
  • Have excellent project management and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of advertisers in the real estate industry helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Generate print and digital revenue to meet/exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals.
  • Manage the sales and production cycle from beginning to end.
  • Develop strong relationships with company owners and other advertising prospects.
  • Work effectively with advertising and marketing agencies.
  • Represent association at events in Florida and nationally.

Job is based in Orlando with 2-4 prospecting trips to national events each year.
